Ashley Brown, Broadway's original MARY POPPINS, returned to the company yesterday, March 8, at the New Amsterdam Theatre. Brown assumes the title role through Sunday, July 17 (Laura Michelle Kelly, currently playing the role, will take a brief hiatus for a film project, returning to the show on Tuesday, July 19). Brown reunites with her original Broadway ‘Bert,' co-star Gavin Lee, having last performed with him when they launched and headlined the MARY POPPINS North American tour. On Halloween, more than twenty Broadway Kids Care (BKC) members from numerous shows will team with UNICEF at Kids Night on Broadway at Madame Tussads. BKC/UNICEF will have a booth where kids can decorate Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF boxes and make fun crafts. Alex Ko (Billy Elliot), Matthew Lobenhofer (Gypsy), Katherine McNamara (A Little Night Music), Catherine Missal (Mary Poppins), and Laurissa Romain (South Pacific) will be on hand to meet guests at the ever popular autograph alley.
