San Francisco Opera's SHOW BOAT, Starring Harriet Harris & Bill Irwin, Coming to the Big Screen


Rising Alternative today announced that San Francisco Opera's critically acclaimed production of SHOW BOAT will be screened in movie theatres across the country this summer. San Francisco Opera's production of the Broadway classic, which features music by Jerome Kern and book and lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II, opened in June of 2014, and is directed by theater and opera director Francesca Zambello.

Now in its 37th year, this version of A Christmas Carol, adapted by Paul Walsh and Carey Perloff, stays true to the heart of Dickens's timeless story of redemption and brings a playful sensibility to his rich language. A Christmas Carol runs December 6-28, 2013, at A.C.T.'s Geary Theater (415 Geary Street, San Francisco). Press night is Wednesday, December 11 at 7 p.m. VIP seating is available for all performances.
