Carmen Lamar Gonzalez

Carmen is actor & singer and proud member of the professional actor unions: SAG-AFTRA and AEA. She's appeared in film & television and performed in NYC theatre, cabaret, regional theatre and summer stock. Recent credits includes playing Mrs. Robinson in _The Graduate_ at WaterTower Theatre in Dallas.

Originally from Corpus Christi, TX, Carmen lived in many cities a Navy brat calls home including Brunswick, ME, Monterey, CA, Annandale, VA, San Jose, CA. and Middletown, RI. Her dad, a naturalized citizen from Mexico, is retired career US Navy having served as a sailor and pilot flying reconnaissance missions during Vietnam off the USS Hancock and USS Lexington. Her mom is a retired military wife, was a hairstylist and in retail.

Carmen holds a BA in Communications and Theatre from Texas A&M, Corpus Christi, and an MA in Theatre at Hunter College. She is co-director of the Pre-College Conservatory at Neighborhood Playhouse and teaches theatre history in the adult program. She studied privately with Fred Kareman and current acting mentors Anthony Abeson and Lawrence Arancio.

She lives in New York City with her husband and son, 2 rescue poodle mixes and one cat, rides her bike, does yoga and follows a plant-based diet.
