Interactive Children's Theater Returns To The Heights Players In Brooklyn

The Heights Players in Brooklyn proudly presents Snow White and the Battle for Pittsburgh: A Participation Play for Children as part of their 2019-2020 Theater for Children programming. Snow White and the Battle for Pittsburgh is one of several interactive musicals for children and families written by Hilary Goldman and Kevin McAuley under their Good Idea Bears banner.

The production, directed by Hilary Goldman, is the sixth of The Heights Players' 62nd season.

Lisa Howard Rounds Out Cast of Tim Realbuto's WUNDERKIND at NYMF

Drama Desk Award winner and Drama League nominee Lisa Howard, who is currently earning rave reviews starring as Jenny Steinberg in Broadway's 'It Shoulda Been You', is the final special guest performer to join Tim Realbuto in his autobiographical piece 'Wunderkind' at The New York Musical Theatre Festival. Ms. Howard is also well known for her portrayal of Rona Lisa Peretti in the original Broadway cast of 'The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee'. Her numerous other Broadway credits include Lincoln Center's 'South Pacific'; '9 to 5'; and 'Priscilla Queen of the Desert'. On television, she appeared on ABC's 'Ugly Betty', but is perhaps most known to film audiences as Siobahn in 'The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2.' Next up, she will star as Sylvia in director Joseph Wartnerchaney 's thriller 'Decay' for Ghost Orchid Films.

Tony Award winner Beth Leavel (The Drowsy Chaperone; Mamma Mia!) and Michael Nigro (who starred as Fredrich von Trapp opposite Carrie Underwood in NBC's "The Sound of Music Live!") are the final two special guest performers to join Tim Realbuto in his autobiographical piece 'Wunderkind' at The New York Musical Theatre Festival.

The Heights Players ('Yentl,' 'Doubt'), a not-for-profit theater company based in Brooklyn, closes its 58th season with the seminal theatrical piece WEST SIDE STORY, which features book by Arthur Laurents, music by Leonard Bernstein, lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, and original direction and choreography by Jerome Robbins. Thomas N. Tyler ('A Chorus Line,' 'Finian's Rainbow') directs this production, which runs until Sunday, May 25, at 26 Willow Place, Brooklyn, N.Y.
