This Spring, Educational Alliance's 14th Street Y and Downtown Jewish Life Celebrate Jewish Culture across the East Village with the 2019 Season of Jewish Culture

Educational Alliance will host the #NastyWomen Production on Monday, April 15th at 7:30pm at the 14th Street Y, featuring the first line-up comprised entirely of trans and non-binary comedians. In the wake of the 2016 presidential election, #NastyWomen was conceived as a night dedicated to female resistance comedians that utilize comedy as both a uniting tool and a resistance tool. January 18th, 2018 - days ahead of the Women's March - marked the inaugural event and the series continues to generate a forum that empowers all through laughter, camaraderie, and activism. In light of the explosive #MeToo and Time's Up movements and in recognition that feminism must be intersectional, on April 15, 2019 at 7:30pm, #NastyWomen+ will feature underrepresented genders and empower those marginalized within the spectrum of she and they identity.

Downtown Jewish Life presents INTO THE NIGHT, a contemporary spin on an ancient tradition of all night study during the Jewish Holiday of Shavuot, hosted by The 14th Street Y on Saturday, May 19, 2018 beginning at 6pm.

On Thursday, March 1, 2018, the 14th Street Y hosted its 2018 PURIM Gala at Cipriani, 25 Broadway, NYC, raising more than $355,00. Proceeds from the Gala help to advance the 14th Street Y's mission as a hub of creativity, community programming, and Jewish culture in downtown Manhattan, providing scholarships, developing enrichment programs, and enhancing the lives of more than 26,000 people who walk through the doors each year.

On Wednesday, May 25, 2016, The 14th Street Y will host its annual Gala featuring a VIP Rooftop Reception and Cocktail Party & Program, including cocktails by Tito's Handmade Vodka, in its dynamic theater space at The 14th Street Y, 344 E. 14th Street, NYC.

Lincoln Center's off-campus Boro-Linc program for families and children will expand to Manhattan, starting in 2016. With this new partner, and another in Brooklyn later this year, Lincoln Center realizes its commitment to host the program in communities across all five boroughs of New York City. Through Boro-Linc, Lincoln Center partners with local arts and community centers around the city to present free performances, workshops, and family-oriented programs by Lincoln Center resident organizations in neighborhoods, working to break down geographic barriers and create greater access to its diverse arts and cultural offerings for all audiences and ages.

The benefit concert will feature over 25 top-name performers from the worlds of Broadway, television, film, music and comedy - including many Tony, Oscar, Emmy, and Grammy Award winners and nominees. Tickets to 'BROADWAY FOR A NEW AMERICA' range from $40.00 to $125.00.

The show features performers and cast members from leading shows, including Tony, Emmy and Grammy Award winners, stars from the worlds of television, film, music, and comedy, plus prominent political leaders, progressive and LGBT activists.
