Organic Nation Listening Club returns to Artists Rep with Jazz and World Music composer David Ornette Cherry's new show COMIN' AND GOIN', a special evening of music performance that integrates music with storytelling about Portland's late, great, Native American musician Jim Pepper.

The premier performance of the Steven Frieder Quintet features new original compositions and arrangements.

The Steven Frieder Quintet, featuring Steven Frieder on saxophone, Jon Irabagon on saxophone, Mike Eckroth on piano, Luca Rosenfeld on bass, ad Bob Meyer on drums and cymbals, will play The Metropolitan Room on March 14, 2017.

On October 8th the Quintet will celebrate the record release of Short Stories at the 55 Bar in New York City with two sets at 9.30 pm and 11.30 pm. With admission, every guest will receive a double-disc album for free.

New York-based entertainer, vocalist and jazz aficionado Keith A. Dames hosts a birthday celebration / release party for his debut CD 'Left Alone' - A Billie Holiday & Mal Waldron Composition on Monday, October 28th at Shell's Bistro in Harlem. Dames, a CityCollege graduate who has appeared at the Lenox Lounge, Jazzmobile and Stage 72 aka Triad Theater, will be joined by Danny Mixon (piano), RaDu Ben Judah (bass) Marvin Horne (guitar) and G. Earl Grice (drums) for sets at 7:30pm & 9:30pm.

Cornelia Street Cafe presents the Mat Maneri Trio featuring Mat Maneri, viola, Ed Schuller, bass and Randy Peterson, drums. This concert will be the 20 year anniversary of this contrapuntal trio who will be playing a collection of music from their past 3 recordings as well as new material. The trio have worked together over the years to try and push the boundaries of what a jazz trio can be, incorporating fresh ways of interpreting modern classical, swing and other forms of music.
