Mark Crawford's BED AND BREAKFAST Brings A Dizzying Cast Of Characters To GCTC

A heartfelt comedy about "being out" in small town Ontario, Mark Crawford's Bed and Breakfast is bringing dozens of hilarious characters - played by only two actors - to the GCTC stage. When Brett inherits the family home, he and Drew move out of quick-paced Toronto to set up a B&B in a sleepy little Ontario town. What follows is a madcap journey through renovations, family skeletons, and finding a place to call home. In partnership with Arts Club Theatre Company (Vancouver), Ashlie Corcoran directs this production starring Mark Crawford and Paul Dunn.

Bed and Breakfast runs on the GCTC Mainstage from December 4 - 23.

Bed and Breakfast is a theatrical tour de force as riotously funny as it is deeply moving. With more than a few unexpected and hilarious plot twists, we follow Brett and Drew over the course of one year - through the real estate rat race, renovation hell, the big opening weekend of the B & B, and encounters with small-town expectations.

Performances begin at 8:00 p.m. Tuesday -Friday. Saturday performances take place at 4:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. Sunday matinee performances begin at 2:00 p.m. Pay-what-you-decide performance on Sunday, December 9 at 2:00 p.m. and a post-performance talkback will take place on the main stage on Thursday, December 13.

The Prologue Series continues to bring exciting discussions and unique experiences to GCTC that take us into the creative process of the plays on our stage.

The latest edition is December 5, free to the public, and will start at 6:45 pm in the GCTC lobby. Artistic Director Eric Coates hosts a pre-show interview with Bed and Breakfast artists, followed by a backstage tour. Availability is limited, so be sure to RSVP on GCTC.ca.

From December 4 to January 20, 2019, the Great Canadian Theatre Company (GCTC) and The Ottawa School of Art (OSA) will present Common Ground, a group exhibit featuring the works of students Mallory Hanes, Jacqueline Mudie, Shelby Noonan, Anne Scanlan, and Joel Secter at the Lorraine "Fritzi" Yale Gallery. A vernissage, with an opportunity to meet the artist, will take place Tuesday, December 4th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. GCTC's partnership with the Ottawa School of Art is supported by Cube Gallery.
