Wekiva River Players Presents: SCHOOL OF ROCK: YOUNG ACTORS EDITION Rock got no reason, rock got no rhyme… You better get me to school on time! Andrew Lloyd Webber’s School of Rock: Young Actors Edition is a dynamic, one-hour version of the musical based on the hit movie. The show follows Dewey Finn, a failed, wannabe rock star who decides to earn an extra bit of cash by posing as a substitute teacher at a prestigious prep school. There he turns a class of straight-A pupils into a guitar-shredding, bass-slapping, mind-blowing rock band. But can he get them to the Battle of the Bands without their parents and the school’s headmistress finding out?

About the Theatre
Wekiva River Players has been Seminole County's longest-running community theatre company, performing continuously since 1993. Each year we produce shows for three age groups: elementary, middle school, and high school. Our programs are built around education as much as performance -- young people learn stagecraft, production design, and what it actually takes to put on a show. We give back, too. Throughout our history we've donated time, talent, and money to local causes, because we believe theatre belongs to the whole community. We recently settled into our dedicated home in Longwood after 33 years of renting spaces across Seminole County. We're confident that with a great deal of hard work, combined with support from the community, we'll continue to provide Central Florida with education, opportunities, and most importantly, theatrical entertainment that is second to none.
