Something wicked this way comes… Tragedy transpires at the hands of Verdi’s Macbeth during Opera Orlando’s 2024-25 Destiny + Desire season opener in Steinmetz Hall. Motivated by his prophesized rise to the Scottish throne and his zealous wife, Macbeth takes political matters into his own hands by bloodying them. He commits murder and incites violence and war all in the name of amassing power and status. Unbeknownst to him, these ambitious desires lead to his destined defeat. Indulge in the macabre this Halloween as baritone Norman Garrett returns to Orlando in the title role of stage director Matt Haney’s all-new production with the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra in the pit, conducted by Mark Sforzini.
