Winter Park Playhouse Receives Membership in Prestigious National Alliance for Musical Theatre

The Winter Park Playhouse has stepped into the national spotlight as it receives membership in the prestigious National Alliance for Musical Theatre (NAMT). This organization, of which The Playhouse is now a member, is the premiere association of its kind with members in thirty-four states and abroad, that are considered the leading producers of professional musical theatre in the world.

Receiving membership in such an historic nationally acclaimed organization puts The Winter Park Playhouse in well recognized company alongside Goodspeed Musicals(CT), Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera, Theatre Under the Stars ( Houston) , MUNY (St Louis), The Public Theatre (NYC),Walnut Street Theatre (Philadephia) among others.

Founded in 1985, NAMT is a national service organization dedicated exclusively to musical theatre. Its mission includes advancing the art of musical theatre by nurturing the creation, development and production of new and classic musicals as well as advocating for the imagination, diversity and joy unique to the musical theatre experience.

This type of membership, with a nationally recognized alliance comprised of the best not-for-profit musical theatres in the nation, elevates The Winter Park Playhouse into a new level of professional recognition. One of only a handful of producing professional musical theatres in the region, The Playhouse continues its professional excellence with year round programming.
