Orlando Shakespeare Theater to Present BEAUTY AND THE BEAST

Orlando Shakespeare Theater in Partnership with UCF kicks off its 2016-2017 Children's Series with the beloved fairy tale Beauty and the Beast. Adapted by Brandon Roberts (2015's The Frog and the Princess and 2014's Rapunzel), the family-friendly production will play from June 16 - July 24, 2016 in the Goldman Theater. Individual tickets ($9 - $18) will be available for purchase starting Tuesday, May 3, 2016. Group tickets (orders of 10+) and Children's Series subscriptions are available now by calling (407) 447-1700 ext. 1 or in person at the Lowndes Shakespeare Center (812 East Rollins Street).

Set in an enchanted castle in a far away land, Beauty and the Beast spins a magical tale where a young beauty has been locked away by a terrible Beast. The young woman's honest and enduring love for the unsightly Beast ultimately becomes a gift of kindness that brings magical results. From the team that created Orlando Shakes' The Frog and the Princess comes a bold new telling of the classic French fairy tale.

The cast and creative team for Beauty and the Beast will be announced at a later date.

Opening Date - June 18 at 2 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.

OPENING DAY CELEBRATION - Saturday, June 18 at 1:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.

SHAKE OUT THE SILLIES

Join members of the cast for interactive pre-show fun for the whole family. The fun starts 10-15 minutes prior to every performance.
