Orlando Shakespeare Theater to Host Annual Gala, 9/20

By:

Orlando Shakespeare Theater in Partnership with UCF embarks on an epic quest to Camelot at its 27th Season Gala: A Royal Affair on Sunday, September 20, 2015 at 5:00 p.m. The glittering evening features tastings of Central Florida's finest food and beverages as well as thrilling silent and live auctions. Remaining tickets range from $150 - $250 per person and may be purchased by calling the Box Office at (407) 447-1700 ext. 1 or in person at the John and Rita Lowndes Shakespeare Center at 812 East Rollins Street.

The Theater's annual fundraiser kicks off with an elegant stationed dinner inside the beautiful Lowndes Shakespeare Center, accompanied by music from the UCF Jazz Chambers Group featuring Jeff Rupert. Draped in purple and silver, the Dr. Phillips Patrons' Room will showcase the event's enticing silent auction items. Available prizes include a Scotch & Cigar package from ABC Fine Wine and Spirits, a suite for 16 at an Orlando Solar Bears hockey game, a round of golf and lunch for two at Four Seasons Orlando's Plancha Restaurant, and other exclusive packages from the area's leading businesses.

"This year's Camelot-inspired Gala transports guests to King Arthur's Court," said Director of Development Dana Nichols. "Guests will enjoy decadent tastings and live entertainment while supporting the Theater's mission to provide the community with innovative and educational programming."

The evening continues with a live auction and paddle raise in the Margeson Theater, followed by a one-night-only cabaret featuring stars of Orlando Shakespeare Theater's Monty Python's SPAMLAOT-Michael Hunsaker (LES MISERABLES) and Broadway veterans Davis Gaines and Dee Roscioli-performing their most popular songs. The event concludes with complimentary coffee, dessert, and a champagne toast.

Gala tasting partners include Arthur's Catering, Barnie's Coffee Kitchen, Bubbalou's Bodacious BBQ, Hawkers Asian Street Fare, Hillstone Restaurant Group, Hyatt Regency Orlando, Peterbrooke Chocolatier, P is for Pie, Rosen Centre Hotel, Rosen Shingle Creek, Seasons 52, and Winter Park Distilling Company.

Orlando Shakespeare Theater's 27th Season Gala: A Royal Affair is made possible through the generous support of Lowndes, Drosdick, Doster, Kantor & Reed, P.A.
