The Jupiter Town Council has proclaimed the week of February 24 through March 2 to be "Maltz Jupiter Theatre Week," in honor of the Theatre's cultural contribution to the Jupiter community as the Theatre celebrates its 10th anniversary season.

At the Jupiter town council meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 19, Mayor Karen Golonka presented the Theatre's producing artistic director, Andrew Kato, with a proclamation thanking the Theatre and listing the reasons for the honor, including the Theatre's award-winning productions, volunteer opportunities, educational programs through its Conservatory and more. The week coincides with the week the Theatre opened 10 seasons ago.

"The Maltz Jupiter Theatre is one of Jupiter's treasures," Mayor Golonka said. "We are so fortunate to have access to award-winning productions right here in our backyard."

Kicking off the honorary week will be the Theatre's spectacular sold-out Ten Event Gala, held at the Theatre this Saturday, February 23. The event will include dinner in a glittering tent outside of the Theatre and a magnificent retrospective multimedia presentation produced by Kato, showcasing a 14-piece orchestra and more than 20 stars of the Theatre's past hit productions.

"We are very excited to be receiving this recognition from our community," Kato said. "This honorary week reaffirms the quality of work that we're doing and the many opportunities that we provide within the local community. I can promise that our next season of shows and educational programs will continue this tradition."

Tickets are now on sale now for the rest of the theatre's 10th Anniversary season, and subscriptions are currently on sale for the Theatre's 2013/14 season, Your Ticket to Great Entertainment. For a complete schedule and tickets, call (561) 575-2223 or visit www.jupitertheatre.org.
