The Garden Theatre today announced the 2012 Summer Movie Series sponsored by Progress Energy, running from June 14 through August 25 at the Garden Theatre (160 West Plant Street). This summer's line-up includes 33 feature-length films; Thursday Vintage Favorites, Friday Cult Classics, and StarLite Saturdays.

All movies begin at 7pm and tickets are $5 General Admission. Tickets are sold online at gardentheatre.org or beginning 2 hours prior to show times at the Garden Theatre Box Office.

The highly popular Summer Movie Pass is also available for sale. For just $55, the passholder and two others may attend any and all of the 33 movies in the 2012 Summer Movie Series at the Garden Theatre. A limited number of passes are sold.

StarLite Saturdays are a new addition this year, celebrating the Garden Theatre's StarLite Film Festival which promotes the screening and development of micro-budget films. Two winners of the StarLite Film Festival last February will receive encore screenings, The Wonderland Express and A Schizophrenic Love Story.

The screening of Metropolis will be accompanied by a live soundtrack orchestra featuring the Garden Music School. Paranormal Activity will be followed by a late-night theatre tour with American Ghost Adventures.

The Garden Theatre has also created partnerships with film schools to showcase student films including The Miseducation of Simon Kraus from the University of Central Florida and Blowfish from Valencia College.
