By Gershwin will be an elegant and spirited rendition of the music from greatest songwriting team of the 20th Century. In the 1920's, George and Ira Gershwin changed the face of American popular music forever with their gifts for easy, natural melodies and colorful orchestration. George Gershwin said of their music, "True music must repeat the thought and inspirations of the people and the time. My people are Americans and my time is today."The show will incorporate the Gershwin songbook into a delightful evening of song and dance. Patrons can expect to hear Gershwin classics such as "I've Got Rhythm," "Someone To Watch Over Me" " 'S Wonderful," and "Our Love is Here To Stay." The show's director, FST Artistic Director Richard Hopkins, said "We've wanted to get back to the Gershwin Brothers for over a decade now, and I'm delighted that we will finally have the opportunity to undertake the sweep, the brilliance and the wonderful sense of humor that only the Gershwins can create."
