BlueBarn Theatre Holds Auditions for CHRISTMAS CAROL

BLUEBARN Theatre is holding auditions for the imaginative holiday tale, Jacob Marley's Christmas Carol audition date is set for Saturday, September 11 from 9:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m.

Needed are 2 males, ages 40-60, and 1 male, ages 18-30. The role of "Jacob Marley" has been cast.  Auditions will be held at the Downtown Space, 614 S. 11th St. Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script. "Marley was dead, to begin with..." - and what happens to Ebenezer Scrooge's mean, sour, pruney old business partner after that? Chained and shackled, Marley is condemned to a hellish eternity. He's even given his own private tormentor: a malicious little hell-sprite who thoroughly enjoys his work. Desperate, Marley accepts his one chance to free himself: To escape his own chains, he must first redeem Scrooge. So begins a journey of laughter and terror, redemption and renewal, during which Scrooge's heart, indeed, is opened; but not before Marley-in this irreverent, funny and deeply moving story-discovers his own.

The BLUEBARN Theatre was established in the late 1980s with graduates from the Professional Theatre Training Conservatory at the State University of New York at Purchase. Seeking to continue the deeply shared artistic aesthetic and practice that they had developed from their conservatory training, the founding members joined forces with Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts to produce their first play. Now in its 22nd season, the BLUEBARN has established itself as Omaha's premier Contemporary Theatre company. After producing over 80 plays since 1989, the BLUEBARN is known for high quality entertainment and the fearless pursuit of stories that challenge theatre artists and patrons.
