Photo Flash: THE NORMAL HEART Opens at Oklahoma City Rep Tonight, 11/9

Oklahoma City Repertory Theatre continues their Eleventh Season with Larry Kramer's THE NORMAL HEART, winner of three 2011 Tony Awards, including Best Revival of a Play. A searing drama about public and private indifference to the AIDS plague and one man's lonely fight to awaken the world to the crisis. Set in the early 1980's, Larry Kramer's TONY award-winning drama THE NORMAL HEART follows Ned Weeks, a gay activist enraged at the indifference of public officials and the gay community. While AIDS ravages New York City, he confronts the personal toll of AIDS when his lover dies of the disease. This production is rated R for Very Strong Adult Language and Adult Themes. The show runs from tonight, November 9 through the 18th.

Starring in the CityRep production is Jonathan Beck Reed, Broadway's Stacey Logan, Matthew Alvin Brown, and Emmy Award winner Michael Jones. Also featured in the production are Michael Corolla, Brian Hamilton, Drew Pollock, Wil Rogers, ScotTy Taylor, Terry Veal, Larry Sharp, Daniel Leeman Smith, Scott C. Hynes, and Lane Fields.

THE NORMAL HEART is Directed by Broadway veteran René Moreno, Set Design is by Amanda Foust, Lighting Design is by Adam Chamberlin, Sound Design is by Steve Emerson, Properties Design is by Suzette Collins Sroufe, and Hair and Makeup Design is by Suzette Collins Sroufe Steve Emerson is the Production Stage Manager.

Tickets are $8 for Students, Teachers and Military Personnel (with ID), $20 (groups of eight or more), $30 (matinees) and $35 (evening performances), and may be purchased by calling the CityRep Ticket Hotline at 405.848.3761 or the Civic Center Music Hall Box Office at 405.297.2264 or 1.800.364.7111.
