8 actors, over 50 characters, and 18 scenes compile to tell stories that you need to hear. Come on out to THE DINING ROOM by AR Gurney presented by the Berry College Theatre Company! This moving play is directed by Dr. Anna Maria Filippo and is brought together by the creative team of scenic designer Seamus Bourne and student costume designer Ashley Rutkowski. This moving show with deep meanings is one to not miss.
Set in the dining room--or many dining rooms--Gurney's play centers on the place where the family assembled daily for breakfast, dinner and special occasions. The action is a mosaic of interrelated scenes which, taken together, create an in-depth portrait of a vanishing species: the upper-middle-class WASP. The actors portray a wide variety of characters, from little boys to stern grandfathers, and from giggling teenage girls to Irish housemaids to create a theatrical experience of exceptional range, compassionate humor and abundant humanity.
Come see this collection of scenes April 12-15 and 19-22 in the brand new Sisters Theatre at Berry College. Shows are at 7:30 pm Thursdays through Saturdays and at 2 pm on Sundays. Tickets are $6 for students, $8 for seniors, and $11 for adults and can be purchased at berry.edu/bctc-tickets or at the door.
