We showcase topical subjects with sketches that contain broader ideas people face in our time and veer into the absurd and silly because we just love comedy. Our show draws on the strengths of our diverse cast, providing distinctive viewpoints created from unique voices. From political satire to zany character pieces, this show proves to be more than a lateral move.

We come from diverse ethnicities, gender identities, and sexualities. Our writers and actors come from different backgrounds in comedy and performance including improv, clown, writing and stand-up to showcase the range of our skills developed in comedy schools across New York City. Lateral Move has performed across theaters in New York City including the Brooklyn Comedy Collective (BCC), The Players Theatre, Caveat, Under St. Mark’s, and Brooklyn Art Haus, as well as at the Rochester Fringe Festival.
