Sundog Theatre will present The 39 Steps, opening September 19 and running in Staten Island through September 29 at Veteran's Memorial Hall, Snug Harbor.

Mix a Hitchcock masterpiece with a juicy spy novel, add a dash of Monty Python and you have The 39 Steps, a fast-paced whodunit. This two-time Tony and Drama Desk Award-winning play from Sundog is its first production on Staten Island.

In The 39 Steps, a man with a boring life meets a woman with a thick accent who says she's a spy. He takes her home and she is murdered. Soon, a mysterious organization called "The 39 Steps" is hot on the man's trail in a nationwide manhunt that climaxes in a death-defying finale.

The show stars Actors' Equity Association (AEA) members Ethan Angelica and Natalie Wilder as well as Staten Island theatre luminaries Jack Dabdoub, John Griffin, Sheena Rodriguez, and Nathan Ullrich. Produced by Susan Fenley and directed by Nikki Lauren, The 39 Steps is adapted by Patrick Barlow from the novel by John Buchan; from the movie of Alfred Hitchcock.

AEA member Ethan Angelica, a graduate of the NYU Tisch School of the Arts, has performed with the Guthrie Theatre, The Mint Theatre, Theatreworks USA, and the Metropolitan Playhouse. AEA member Natalie Wilder has performed at the Orlando Shakespeare Festival, Oldcastle Theatre Company, New Jersey Repertory, and The Chocolate Factory. John Griffin is currently appearing as Jean Valjean in Les Miserables with In the Wings Theatre, and has performed as the title role in Sweeney Todd and Jesus Christ Superstar, as well as lead roles in Pippin, Oliver, Into the Woods, Blood Brothers, Death of a Salesman, The Lion in Winter, The Glass Menagerie and more. Jack Dabdoub has appeared in the title roles of Hamlet and Jacob Marley's Christmas Carol, and in lead roles in Angels in America, Midsummer Night's Dream, To Kill A Mockingbird, and more.

Tickets are available at www.SundogTheatre.org for $18-general, $15-srs/students w/ID.
