Salamander Starts Over, winner of the Best Solo Show at FringeNYC, has been extended to the 2012 New York International Fringe Festival's Encore Series. Salamander Starts Over, played to sold out houses during the August run and received rave reviews. Performances begin tonight, September 7th at The SoHo Playhouse.

The words every teenage punk dreads: ALL-BOYS CATHOLIC SCHOOL. But this isn't your average preparatory education. Eccentric teachers. Militant coaches. Dance-fighting students. Add these with the love of a Cuban mother and see how Salamander Starts Over.

All performances take place at The SoHo Playhouse, downstairs in The Huron Club, 15 Vandam between Varick Street and Sixth Avenue. (Subway: C or E to Spring, exit via Vandam St. near center of platform.)

Armando Merlo (Playwright/actor) theater credits include LINE by Israel Horovitz (13th Street Rep), The Night of the Iguana, Twelfth Night and Welcome to the Moon. Film/TV: Sesame Street, Speed of Love, Nacho Mountain, Free Country (Best Actor, NYC International Film Festival). Armando recently starred in the short film Please Say a Command, written by Steve Monarque and starring Jerry Stiller, which is set to release early next year. Armando was trained by Joanna Beckson and is a graduate of Penn State University. He has a French Bulldog named Hippo.

Leigh Ann Pedra (Director) directed the original work shopped production of Salamander Starts Over and recently directed a sold-out run of Pizza Man. She also appears alongside Jerry Stiller in the short-film Please Say a Command. Leigh Ann studied acting with Joanna Beckson and John Gould Rubin.
