Random Access Theatre Company Presents THE TEMPEST, 11/14-18
Random Access Theatre Company brings to the New Orleans Fringe Festival five actors with only 60 minutes to enact a non-linear, gender-bending exploration of Shakespeare's The Tempest. As an original, gallery style, ensemble piece, Tempting Air re-stages new and old interpretations of Shakespeare's The Tempest to examine our physical and emotional responses to chaos and re-imagines traditional relationships between audience and artist so participants can collectively investigate the classic play of storms, spirits and power. Watch these performers in the intimacy of a gallery furiously journey through the panic, power struggles, sexual awakenings, and hilarity of The Tempest. This non-traditional piece will make the audience question their role in the theater and their understanding of a story we all think we know…
The fifth annual New Orleans Fringe Festival, Nov. 14-18, 2012 will be a five-day mind-blowing spectacle of theater of all types from New Orleans and all over the country performing at venues throughout the city. Tickets are $8 with the one-time purchase of a Fringe button ($3). Visit www.nofringe.org for more info. The Fringe is a 501(c)3 non-profit that was founded by local arts organizers to nurture fearless theater in New Orleans.
