After being selected as a finalist in this year's Manhattan Repertory Theater's Long One-Act competition, where is was received to overwhelmingly positive acclaim, Emma Lynn Worth has brought her original work, RED LIGHT, GREEN LIGHT, to the beautiful Theater at St. Clements as a part of the Strawberry Theater Festival.

RED LIGHT, GREEN LIGHT is an investigation of the conflict between what we say and what we mean. The one-act play explores what truths lie between young lovers, Luke and Lucinda, had they free reign to express them.

Worth is very proud of the beautiful work of actors Jason Alazraki and Hollis Witherspoon, brought together by the stellar direction of Darrell Larson, light design of Marie Yokoyama, sound design of Rich Louis-Pierre, and choreography of Maria Phegan Sweet.

The theatrical device of lighting allows us to glimpse in on their interactions under different levels of truth: green light represents their interaction as the world might see it (the external manifestation of their polite, censored thoughts); red light represents their expression of uncensored inner monologue (they which they think, but do not feel free to say). Both characters struggle to achieve a marriage of their thoughts, feelings, and the direct expression of them. RED LIGHT, GREEN LIGHT explores our inner longings and frustrations, and the struggle to give voice to them.
