Bagela4Art Productions presents an all-female reading of A Midsummer Night's Dream at the Dixon Place Theater February 12th.

Georgia Testa, the CEO of Bagela4Art Productions says that one of the main purposes of her company is to create unconventional yet innovative opportunities for artists; so casting all females in such a well-known Shakespearean tale seemed like a great opportunity to do so.

At the forefront of the production are four actresses who will be playing the infamous foursome of tangled lovers; Danika St.Denis as Hermia, Svetlana Orel as Lysander, Kyra Meyers as Helena, and Josephine Ptacek as Demetrius.

Originally from Canada, Danika St.Denis performed with a variety of professional and regional theatres since the age of eight. After making the move to New York, she has performed with RWS Entertainment Group, The Other Side of Silence (TOSOS) Theater Co., Living Room Theater Co., AlphaNYC, The Players Theatre, and is a permanent member of Our Time Players Theater Co.

Svetlana Orel's past productions include Last Train Ride Home (Viv B Productions), Manfred (Evening Crane Theatre), Model T in the Amazon (Manhattan Rep Theatre), and Lives of Tiresias (Jefferson Market Playhouse). Recently, Svetlana had her directorial and composer debut with Nights at the Piano: a New Song Cycle at The Duplex.

Kyra Meyers is originally from Northern Virginia and caught the acting bug when she was eleven. After moving to New York, she has worked with Evening Crane Theatre and AlphaNYC. Kyra is thrilled to be a part of this reading with such a wonderful cast.

Native to Nebraska, Josephine Ptacek moved to New York to pursue her passions as an artist. She made her New York debut at The Manhattan Repertory Theatre and will be featured this spring performing with The American Theatre for Actors. She is very excited to be working on this reimagining of Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream as she feels it intends to send a very important message regarding the current state of the world.

Bagela4Art Productions is thrilled to feature these four lead actresses this Tuesday February 12th at 2pm at The Dixon Place Theater. Seating begins 10 minutes prior.
