Video: INDIAN PRINCESSES Creators on the Road to Off-Broadway at Atlantic Theater Company
Playwright Eliana Theologides Rodriguez and director Miranda Cornell discuss the show.
You can now see a new interview with Indian Princesses playwright Eliana Theologides Rodriguez and director Miranda Cornell, discussing the road to the play's Off-Broadway premiere - what changes between productions, what stays, and how comedy can become catharsis inside hard conversations.
Indian Princesses began performances Thursday, April 30, 2026, officially opens Tuesday, May 19, 2026, and runs in a limited engagement through Sunday, June 7, 2026 at Atlantic Theater Company's Linda Gross Theater. Tickets are on sale now.
About the process, playwright Eliana Theologides Rodriguez shared, "My process is very collaborative in a way that can prevent me from doing rewrites by myself. Rebecca Jimenez on the first day of rehearsal... said something along the lines of, "Every scene I'm thinking, 'I am different now, I am different now, I am different now.'" It was so simple, but it really inspired me to think about every character like that. What is different about them in this scene versus the last scene."
Atlantic Theater Company (Neil Pepe, Artistic Director, Jeffory Lawson, Managing Director) and Rattlestick Theater (Will Davis, Artistic Director, Maegan Morris, Managing Director) present Indian Princesses written by Eliana Theologides Rodriguez and directed by Miranda Cornell. The production was developed in part through the Terrence McNally New Works Incubator at Rattlestick Theater in partnership with The Terrence McNally Foundation.
The cast features Ben Beckley, Anissa Marie Griego, Rebecca Jimenez, Greg Keller, Serenity Mariana, Pete Simpson, Lark White, Haley Wong, and Tony Award winner Frank Wood.
