RICHARD III: A TWISTED FAIRY TALE is Coming to the American Theatre of Actors
The production will feature the professional NYC stage debut of Antares Puentevella, the grandson of legendary ATA founder James Jennings.
The American Theatre of Actors is celebrating a rare "three-generation" milestone. As the Epiphany Shakespeare Co. presents the world premiere of RICHARD III: A TWISTED FAIRY TALE (April 22-26, 2026), the production will feature the professional NYC stage debut of Antares Puentevella, the grandson of legendary ATA founder James Jennings.
Antares Puentevella, son of ATA Executive Director Jessica Jennings and grandson of James Jennings and Jane Culley, will step into the role of Prince Peter for the production's closing performance. Having previously starred in regional productions like Stone Soup, Antares now joins his family's legacy in the heart of Hell's Kitchen.
Written and directed by 10-time BroadwayWorld Award winner Joshuah Patriarco, this 120-minute "epic mashup" reimagines Shakespeare's notorious hunchback as "The Malevolent." The Kingdom of "Disneare" rises as Richard plots a bloody path through a cabal of iconic fairytale figures from Sleeping Beauty, Snow White, Peter Pan, and Beauty & the Beast.
