Atlantic Theater Company will present the New York premiere of Rolin Jones' play The Jammer, featuring Patch Darragh, Dan Domingues, Christopher Jackson, Billy EuGene Jones, Keira Naughton, Kate Rigg, Jeanine Serralles, Greg Stuhr and Todd Weeks directed by Jackson Gay.

THE JAMMER will begin previews Wednesday, January 9; officially open Tuesday, January 22; and play a limited engagement through Sunday, February 10, 2013 Off-Broadway at Atlantic Stage 2 (330 16th Street, between 8th & 9th Avenue).

In this wild theatrical adventure about New York in the late 1950's, The Jammer plunges into the hard-boiled, bizarre world of professional roller derby. Jack Lovington (Darragh), a lovelorn Brooklynite, needs to find himself and stake a claim in the world. When he joins up with the rough and tumble Brooklyn Brown Devils, little does Jack know that his life is about to be turned completely upside down and that he's about to find himself on a most unexpected roller coaster ride. Jones takes us back to the Bushwick of yesteryear and creates a romantic urban fable for our time.

Playwright Rolin Jones returns to Atlantic Theater Company following his critically acclaimed Obie Award winning and Pulitzer Prize finalist play The Intelligent Design of Jenny Chow. He has written for the hit television series "Weeds," "Friday Night Lights" and "Boardwalk Empire" and is writing the feature film adaptation of the Broadway musical American Idiot.

Director Jackson Gay reunites with Rolin Jones at Atlantic, where she staged The Intelligent Design of Jenny Chow as well as Lucy Thurber's hit play Scarcity. She recently directed Rachel Crothers play A Little Journey Off Broadway, which received the 2012 Drama Desk Nomination for Outstanding Revival of a Play.

Patch Darragh made his Broadway debut in Our Town and received a Lortel Award nomination for the recent revival of The Glass Menagerie Off Broadway. Dan Domingues last appeared at Atlantic in The Cherry Orchard and has had recurring roles in the television series "Royal Pains," "Gossip Girl" and "Law & Order." Christopher Jackson has starred in the Broadway musicals Memphis, In The Heights, The Lion King and Off-Broadway in the play Lonely, I'm Not. Broadway veteran Billy EuGene Jones' credits include The Mountaintop, Passing Strange, Radio Golf, Gem of the Ocean and A Raisin in the Sun. Keira Naughton last appeared Off Broadway in Hunting and Gathering and in the Broadway revival of The Rivals. Kate Rigg has been featured in the Off Broadway productions of BFE, The Vagina Monologues, Dogeaters, Most Fabulous Story Ever Told. Jeanine Serralles' Off-Broadway credits include Paris Commune, The Maids, Maple and Vine and The Glass Cage. Greg Stuhr returns to Atlantic after last appearing in Ethan Coen's Offices and has been featured on Broadway in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee and November. Atlantic ensemble member Todd Weeks has appeared in the company's productions of Bluebird, Keep Your Pantheon, Scarcity, The Voysey Inheritance, Romance, Sea of Tranquility, The Cider House Rules and Distant Fires.

Atlantic Theater Company's world premiere production of Melissa James Gibson's play What Rhymes with America, directed by Daniel Aukin and starring Chris Bauer, Aimee Carrero, Seana Kofoed and Da'Vine Joy Randolph, is in previews and will open December 12 at The Linda Gross Theater.

The design team for The Jammer will feature scenic design by Wilson Chin, costume design by Jessica Ford, lighting design by Paul Whitaker and original music and sound design by Broken Chord.
