Amas Musical Theatre & Song Salon to Offer Special Benefit Presentation of GOTTA GETTA GIRL, 6/22

Amas Musical Theatre (Donna Trinkoff, Artistic Producer) and The Amas Song Salon will offer a special benefit presentation of Gotta Getta Girl, a 1930's musical romp with book and lyrics by Peter Charles Morris and music by David Caldwell. Directed by Phillip George (Forbidden Broadway) with musical direction by Mr. Caldwell and a cast of three - Michael LaMasa, Brieghanna Minnema and Sam Underwood ("Dexter, "Homeland," "The Following"), the presentation will be held on Monday, June 22 in a beautiful terraced apartment in Harlem. The evening will begin at 6pm with cocktails and light dinner, followed by the performance and post-performance discussion at 7:30pm. Tickets are $90 (tax deductible as allowed law) and may be purchased online at www.amasmusical.org or by calling212-563-2565. This is a one time event and the seating is limited.

How does a musical begin? What steps does it take during its development process? What does it take for a totally original piece of musical theatre to catch the attention of a producer? The path can be time consuming and frustrating, but the trip from idea to opening night can also be a thrilling ride! This special evening will provide an insider's view where these important questions will be answered by the young stars and artistic team of Amas Musical Theatre's upcoming Mainstage Musical, Gotta Getta Girl.

In Gotta Getta Girl, Gene and Don, a Vaudeville tap dancing duo are forced to re-evaluate their unsuccessful career in show business when they decide they "gotta getta girl" into the act -- even if it means keeping Don from the one thing he's always wanted: Gene! When their new and adorable tap dancing beauty, Debbie, turns out to be more than what meets the eyes, Don is forced to take drastic steps to win back his man. The MGM Movie Musical that never was - on stage! The show was a 2011 New York Musical Theatre (NYMF) Official Selection.

The Amas Song Salon series, from New York's award-winning Amas Musical Theatre, is designed to present up-close and personal soirees celebrating the Broadway songbook and some of its brightest talents in a relaxed environment.Intimate, entertaining and informative.
