Brahms ' Ein Deutsches Requiem monumental is considered one of his richest and most perfect works. Even so, the Brahms at his requiem as part of the German tradition of Protestant/Lutheran requiem with resonated from Bach, Schütz and Praetorius. Brahms did not follow the Latin liturgy, but he chose even texts from the Bible. His focus was on the consolation and reconciliation.

Kristiansand Symphony Orchestra performs Brahms ? Requiem with Kristiansand, Kristiansand Solistensemble Dom choir and Mandal Kantori.

The concert is led by Olaf Henzold. Henzold was in the period 2001-2006, Music Director at the Norwegian National Opera & Ballet. Today he gjestedirigerer leading orchestras and at the greatest opera houses in the whole of Europe. The Swedish soprano Erika Roos and Norwegian Johannes Weisser is the evening's soloists. Both in the midst of brilliant careers as singers. From 2008, Erika Roos added by Die Komische Oper in Berlin. Today she works as a freelance and is a sought-after concert and opera singer.

Johannes Weisser is one of our country's foremost young singers with an international career in both the opera-, oratoie-and Roman's own printer.
