They come to swing dance, jitterbug, Lindy Hop, and shake, rattle and roll. It's hard to stand still when Joe Levesque's Big Band blows into town for the annual Big Band Christmas Ball.

This holiday tradition returns to Middlebury's Town Hall Theater on Friday, December 18, at 7 pm.

"People love dancing here," says THT's executive director Doug Anderson. "We have the perfect floor for dancing, and there's a lot of room. " Bands love playing at THT as well, with its great acoustics and dramatic lighting.

The Joe Levesque Big Band is an 18-piece band that plays standards made famous by bands like Count Basie, Glenn Miller, Duke Ellington, as well as the music of more contemporary artists. Annette Franklin provides piano and vocals.

Food and drink will be served.

The Big Band Christmas Ball takes place on Friday, December 18, at 7 pm. Tickets are $15, and $5 for children 12 and under. For tickets: 382-9222, www.townhalltheater.org, or visit the Town Hall Theater box office.
