SPECIAL ADDED PERFORMANCE of Swingin' Santas at 8 PM PLUS Show Boat AT 7:30 PM

SWINGIN' SANTAS
Tonight at 8 pm, relax from the snow and get into the spirit of the season when Swingin' Santas Michael Barry, James Gardiner, Zachary Prince, and Stephen Gregory Smith belt, croon, and harmonize through refreshingly different holiday offerings at Signature Theatre. Listening to holiday soul, jazz, blues, and boy band harmonies, patrons can take a break from the snow and shopping frenzy and enjoy an unconventional musical take on the season, Signature style, while sipping choice wine, beer, or cocktails as well as chef-prepared fare right at their tables. Staged by Helen Hayes winner Matt Gardiner with music direction by Howard Breitbart, Signature's holiday cabaret performances have been a sold-out success for the last two seasons.

Tickets for Swingin' Santas are $33 and can be purchased at the Box Office. Doors to the theatre open at 7:30 minutes.

SHOW BOAT

Signature Theatre, nationally renowned for its innovation in musical theater, has reinvented the 1927 classic American musical, Show Boat, in a brand new production playing through January 17, 2010. Artistic Director Eric Schaeffer has created a truly intimate staging in the 276-seat MAX Theatre complete with a revised script and new orchestrations. Songs such as Ol' Man River, Can't Help Lovin ‘Dat Man, Make Believe, and Bill by Jerome Kern and Oscar Hammerstein II capture the imagination of another generation of theater-goers in this lyrical masterpiece about the lives, loves, and heartbreaks of three generations of show folk on the Mississippi. Spanning the years 1880 to 1927, Show Boat is a sweeping tale of enduring love and devastating hatred, illuminating through unforgettable music the cruelty of prejudice-and the beauty of romance.

Tickets for Show Boat on December 21 are $64 - $69 and are available by calling Ticketmaster at (703) 573-SEAT (7328) or visiting www.signature-theatre.org. Rush tickets for $30 are available one hour before curtain.

Directions
Signature Theatre is just nine minutes from downtown Washington, DC in Arlington's Shirlington Village.
