The Air Force Association (AFA) invites the public to help honor the nation's wounded warriors by attending the "Salute to Wounded Warriors" Concert, at the Air Force Memorial, in Arlington, Virginia, on Saturday, June 7, 2014. The concert, which begins at 6:30 p.m., will feature Max Impact, the premier rock band of the United States Air Force.

The concert is one element of a jam-packed weekend of events scheduled under the Air Force Association Cycling Classic (AFACC), proudly brought to you by the Boeing Company.

AFA, in partnership with Arlington Sports, Inc., will host the 2014 AFACC, the region's premier cycling event, taking place June 7 8 throughout Arlington, Va. The AFACC encourages cyclists of all abilities to participate in its various events, which include two days of riding and racing from professionals and amateurs to enthusiastic adults and kids! The featured races include the nation's top pro men and women, which are part of USA Cycling's prestigious National Criterium Calendar.

The AFA Wounded Airman Program (WAP) will be the sole official beneficiary and will receive a portion of the funds raised from the event. WAP supports the work of the Air Force Wounded Warrior office and directly helps seriously ill and injured airmen, and their caregivers, financially and with adapted equipment and lifestyle items.

Individuals or corporate teams have the opportunity to help raise funds for WAP through their participation in the AFACC Challenge Ride, an amateur, non-competitive, participatory ride, open to all cyclists. The Air Force Memorial, along with the Pentagon and Crystal City, lies along the 15km route.

Top individual and corporate fundraisers will be honored at the "Salute to Wounded Warriors" Concert by both Boeing and Thales, sponsors of the fundraising challenge. Winners of the June 7 professional races will also be acknowledged.

The Air Force Memorial, dedicated in 2006, honors the service and sacrifice of America's airmen. The Memorial is the scene for more than 250 activities each year to include military retirement, promotion and re-enlistment ceremonies, Honor Flight and student tours, wreath-laying ceremonies, and other special events. [Note: Parking at the Memorial is limited but a free trolley service will be provided. Please visit www.airforcememorial.org/visit/specialeventtransportation for more information.]
