WHITE CHRISTMAS

Musical libretto by David Ives and Paul Blake, with music and lyrics by Irving Berlin

This production will be directed by Mr. Craig Uppercue,
with Musical Direction by Tori Rathbun
and Choreography by Steven Flaa

The Athens Theatre in DeLand will hold open auditions for White Christmas on October 6 & 7 (Monday & Tuesday) at the Athens Theatre starting at 6pm each evening. An additional Call Back Date is Wednesday Oct 8th. The Athens Theatre is located at 124 N. Florida Avenue in Downtown DeLand.

No appointments. Sign-ins are accepted starting at 6:00p.
Rehearsals begin October 20th, 2014

Performances will be held on:

December 5,6,7*,11,12,13,14*,19,20,and 21* at the Athens. All shows start at 7:30p, Sunday *Matinees at 2:30p.

All roles are unpaid.

NOTES/WHAT TO BRING:

  • Present a prepared one minute memorized monologue of their choosing.
  • Please prepare 16-32 bars of standard musical theatre song that showcases both range and acting ability. Bring sheet music in the appropriate key. No a capella auditions. An Accompanist will be available.
  • Typed Resume and Headshot (preferable).

OVERVIEW:

Based on the beloved, timeless film, this heartwarming musical adaptation features seventeen Irving Berlin songs and a book by David Ives and Paul Blake. Veterans Bob Wallace and Phil Davis have a successful song-and-dance act after World War II. With romance in mind, the two follow a duo of beautiful singing sisters en route to their Christmas show at a Vermont lodge, which just happens to be owned by Bob and Phil's former army commander. The dazzling score features well known standards including Blue Skies, I Love a Piano, How Deep Is the Ocean and the perennial favorite, White Christmas.
