TheatreWorks New Milford Holds Casting Call for
[title of show]
May 8 - 9

TheatreWorks New Milford is seeking a cast of 2 men (ages 25 to 40) and 2 women (ages 25 to 40) for their upcoming summer musical [title of show], with music and lyrics by Jeff Bowen and book by Hunter Bell.

[title of show] is a unique musical comedy centering on two struggling writers who decide to enter a new musical theatre festival. The problem is they have no ideas and the submission deadline is just three weeks away. After enlisting three friends to help them, the big idea finally comes to light: they'll write a musical about the unnerving, hectic, and joyous process of writing a musical. Filled with lots of laughs and lots of heart, [title of show]received a Tony Award nomination for Best Book of a Musical in 2009.

Auditions will be held at TheatreWorks, 5 Brookside Ave., New Milford (next to the CVS) on Sunday, May 8, from 3:00 to 5:30 p.m. and Monday, May 9, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Actors should prepare one Broadway or contemporary musical theater song showing their vocal range and should bring sheet music in the correct key only. An accompanist will be provided. No transposition, a capella or accompaniment track will be allowed during the audition. Auditioners should provide a photo and resume if available. All roles are available and both professionals and amateurs are welcome. No appointments are necessary. TheatreWorks offers a stipend to all performers, technicians, and directors. [title of show] is under the direction of Alicia Dempster of Danbury and the musical direction of Steven Oliveri of New York, NY.

Rehearsals begin in late May or early June with performances running July 8 to 30, 2016.

TheatreWorks is an award-winning, non-Equity theatre company, named Best Community Theater in Connecticut by Connecticut Magazine. The Theatre is located at 5 Brookside Avenue , just off Route 202 (next to the CVS), in New Milford , CT. Parking is located behind the Catherine E. Lillis Administration Building at 50 East Street, New Milford.
