THE GREAT AMERICAN TRAILER PARK CHRISTMAS MUSICAL - Little Theatre of Mechanicsburg
AUDITION NOTICE – The Great American Trailer Park Christmas Musical
Auditions October 18, 19 – 7:00 PM at Little Theatre of Mechanicsburg, 915 S. York Street, Mechanicsburg – 717-766-0535
It’s Christmastime in the Armadillo Acres mobile home community, and everyone is filled with visions of keg-nog and beer. In this fun-loving and raucous sequel to THE GREAT AMERICAN TRAILER PARK MUSICAL, you’ll meet new residents of north Florida’s premiere mobile home community, including Darlene (the neighborhood Scrooge), her boyfriend Jackie, and Rufus (a redneck with a heart of gold). Longtime Armadillo Acres residents Betty, Lin, and Pickles are back with voices as big as their hair, but when a freak accident strikes Darlene, everyone’s Christmas cheer will be put to the test.
Director, Duane Baker is looking for the following:
Darlene Seward: (age 30’s to 50’s) The year round “Scrooge”, Darlene hates everybody and everything. But underneath her hard exterior is someone who once believed in love and magic.
Rufus Jeter: (30’s--50’s) The well-liked Redneck with a Heart of Gold, Rufus enjoys “six-packs” and creating art. He befriends Darlene.
Jackson “Jackie” Boudreaux: (30’s--50’s) A self-made man creating a local chain of “breastaurants”; Jackie loves money, winning and his girlfriend.
Betty: (30’S—50’S) Part hard ass, part mother hen, Betty’s been the manager at the trailer park for 20+ years. Betty is grounded, earthy and dry-witted.
Linoleum “Lin”: (30’s –50’s) Formerly a death row wife, now a death row widow, Lin is having some trouble moving on. She is the “fieriest” of “The Girls”.
Donna aka “Pickles”: (early 20’S) A single mother after her hysterical pregnancy turned out to be real; Pickles is a devout believer in Santa Claus and the joy of the holidays. She is “airy” and wide-eyed.
