THE CURIOUS INCIDENT OF THE DOG IN THE NIGHT-TIME - Black Box Theatre

AUDITIONS will be held for “The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time” based on the novel by Mark Haddon, adapted by Simon Stephens, directed by Ceil Herman.

15 year old Christopher has an extraordinary brain. He is exceptional at mathematics but ill equipped to interpret everyday life. He has never ventured alone beyond the end of his road, he detests being touched, and he distrusts strangers. Now it is 7 minutes past midnight, and Christopher stands beside his neighbor’s dead dog, Wellington, who has been speared with a garden fork. Christopher is determined to solve the mystery of who murdered Wellington, and he carefully records each fact of the crime. But his detective work, forbidden by his father, takes him on a thrilling journey that upturns his world.

The play won 7 Olivier Awards in London including Best New Play in 2013. The Broadway production won the 2015 Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Play, 2015 Outer Critics Circle Award for Outstanding New Broadway Play, the 2015 Drama League Award for Outstanding Production of a Broadway or Off-Broadway Play, as well as the 2015 Tony Award for Best Play.

Black Box Theatre, 430 N. Main Street in Las Cruces.

Sunday, November 18, 2018 at 7 p.m.

Roles to be cast:
2 men (ages 15 - 40)
4 women (ages 20s to 40s)

A perusal script is on reserve at the ASK HERE Desk at Branigan Library.

The play will run from January 25-February 10, with the possibity of extension through February 17, should audience response warrant.
