ONCE UPON A MATTRESS, CABARET, AND DEBBIE DOES DALLAS - Cast Aside Productions Non Equity Auditions

Seeking FEMALE, TRANSGENDER, and GENDERQUEER performers for PAID ROLES in ONCE UPON A MATTRESS, CABARET, and DEBBIE DOES DALLAS the MUSICAL.

We will explore the gendered power-dynamics present in our lives and in these sexually-charged musicals by examining the subconscious, conditioned, and often invasive entitlement through the lens of those that live without that inherent power. The character’s gender will be kept as written in the script.

DETAILS:
• Paid, non-union contracts for FEMALE/TRANSGENDER/GENDERQUEER performers of all abilities to act, sing, and dance.
• Performers must be 18 years old by April 1, 2019.
• All shows rehearse and perform in Portland, ME.
• Performers do not need to commit to all 3 shows to audition.

THE SHOWS:
• Once Upon a Mattress: April 18-27, 2019
• Cabaret: August 15-31, 2019
• Debbie Does Dallas the Musical: November 7-16, 2019 (Maine Premiere)
PERFORMANCES are Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays (with 2 shows on Saturday possible).
Company members can expect REHEARSALS up to 5 days/week, occurring Mon-Fri (evenings) and Sat-Sun (all day) for 3 weeks before opening. More detailed calendars respecting performer time and conflicts will be created once casts are set.

Saturday, December 22, 2018: 10-1pm
Sunday, January 20, 2019: 10-1pm

PREPARE:
• TWO CONTRASTING songs that highlight vocal and acting ability. Sheet music required; piano accompaniment provided.
• Performers may be asked to dance. Please bring clothes to move.
