IN THE VOICE OF OUR MOTHERS - B'Nai Torah Non Equity Auditions

Tony Award winning GFour Productions and Shari Upbin present IN THE VOICE OF OUR MOTHERS to be directed by the author and master teacher, Carol Fox Prescott.

Following its groundbreaking New York tour, the play will have its South Florida premiere at B’naI Torah Congregation in Boca Raton .

IN THE VOICE OF OUR MOTHERS tells the story of the Bible through the point of view of its women, Leah, Rebecca, Rachel, Sarah, and Miriam. They speak in their own words, on their own terms, through acting movement and song. Knowledge of musical instruments a plus (but not mandatory). In addition, we are seeking an actress with knowledge of the Shofar.

Non-traditional - 7 actresses wiil be hired: 5 for the cast as well as 2 standbys, with a scheduled premiere at 2pm in Sunday, February 15, 2015. Rehearsals commence 3 weeks prior to opening. We are seeking all ages from 18 and above. A tour is in the planning stages.

Auditions will take place at B’nai Torah (6261 SW 18th st Boca Raton) on Monday August 4 from 10am – 4PM with callbacks on Wednesday August 6th.

Auditioners will be asked to perform a 2 minute monologue emphasizing their individual strengths (drama, comedy etc) as well as perform a brief acapella song of their choosing. All actresses must move well.
