CABARET - Phamaly Theatre Company Non Equity Auditions

AUDITION NOTICE “Cabaret”

Phamaly Theatre Company – formerly known as “The Physically Handicapped Actors & Musical Artists League, Inc.” will hold non-equity and Equity Guest Artist auditions for its summer 2015 production of Cabaret, music by John Kander, lyrics by Fred Ebb, book by Joe Masteroff and directed by Bryce Alexander.

Audition registrations will be open February 2, 2015. Auditions will be held on Saturday, March 7th from 1pm-5pm by appointment only (please call
303.365.0005 or visit www.phamaly.org to schedule a time). The auditions will be held at Roundabout Theatre Company – 11th floor rehearsal room (231 West 39th St. New York, NY 10018). The show will be presented at the Denver Performing Arts Complex (1150 13th St. Denver, CO 80204) in the Space Theater July 18 to August 9, 2015.

Those auditioning and performing with Phamaly Theatre Company must have one or more disabilities as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). An individual with a disability is defined by the ADA as “...a person who has a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more major life activities, a person who has a history or record of such an impairment, or a person who is perceived by others as having such an impairment.”

Needed are 15-20 physically, emotionally, intellectually, and/or cognitively challenged men and women age range 13 - 75. Actors may be asked to provide doctor’s verification of disability. A complete character breakdown is included on page 2. Please bring a headshot or photo of yourself to the audition. Please prepare a 1 minute monologue from a production of your choosing; AND 16-32 bars of music, preferably from a contemporary musical. Accompanist will be provided, so please bring sheet music. Selections from Cabaret are strongly discouraged. All roles are currently available.

Housing in Denver, Colorado during the run and rehearsal period will be provided. Equity performers may be eligible for a “Guest Artist – Tier 1” agreement for this production.
