Beehive, The Musical. - Williams Street Repertory
BEEHIVE is a nostalgic trip down memory lane recalling the magical pop tunes of the 1960s and early 70s. A group of female friends take us back in history to your favorite girl groups and some of the most influential female vocalists of that time. Aretha, Annette Funicello, Tina Turner, Janis Joplin, Lulu, Leslie Gore and more take the stage and show us how music changed with the times and events of the era. A high energy jukebox musical,BEEHIVE is a delight for the whole family.
Williams Street Rep is looking to cast six to eight strong pop/rock/R&B female vocalists who move extremely well. Ability to handle tight harmonies is a must. We are looking to cast women who can plausibly imitate such female icons as Diana Ross, Aretha Franklin, Janis Joplin, Annette Funicello, Leslie Gore, Lulu, Dusty Springfield, Patti LaBelle, Tina Turner, Brenda Lee, Petula Clark, Connie Francis, and Janis Ian.
All types and ages will be considered. Women of color especially encouraged to audition.
Please prepare a POP, ROCK, or R&B song in the style of the show (i.e. Where the Boys Are, Respect, It's My Party, Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree) not to exceed 2 minutes. Please only choose a song recorded before 1970.
Please bring your Book or an additional vocal piece to show range. Please bring a picture and resume to the audition. Where comfortable clothes & shoes in the event you are asked to move.
