Show Synopsis: The residents of the new trailer park town of Doublewide, TX compete in McTwayne County's Battle of the Mangers, while fighting the County Commissioners to maintain the official incorporation status of their tiny town.

Characters Needed:

Joveeta Crumpler:  (Female, 40s) The Mayor of Doublewide, Joveeta is organized, determined, and dedicated to her town and its citizens - even big personalities like her mother, Caprice.


Caprice Crumpler:  (Female, 70s) Joveeta's fun-loving mother is an experienced barfly, the life of the party, and a cable access commercial "celebrity." 


Lark Barken:  (Female, 20s) A young, guileless, modest, kind-hearted, health-food fan from Oregon. Mother of infant Arden Rose; Daughter of Nash and Georgia Dean; niece of Baby; granddaughter of Sloggett, grand-niece of Patsy.


Patsy Sloggett Price:  (Female, 60s) New to the town of Doublewide, after losing everything and her wits in her former life in Fayro. Snooty, unstable, mean and conniving. 


Big Ethel Satterwhite:  (Female, 60s) Brusque, down-to-earth nurse at Stairway to Heaven Retirement Village who is always ready to lend a hand to her friends. 


Georgia Dean Rudd: (Female, 40s) Gregarious, glitzy, ball of fire employed at Bronco Betty's Buffeteria since age 16. She is Lark's loving mother and Joveeta's close friend. Trying to date but Hung up on past love, Nash Sloggett. 


Haywood Sloggett:  (Male, 70s) A spry old widower with plenty of pep and heart. He takes in his difficult sister Patsy Price with the hope that life in Doublewide can soften her edges. 


Norwayne "Baby" Crumpler:  (Male, 40s) Enthusiastic and sincere goofball who wears many hats: chief of police, head of the fire department, employee of Survival Depot Outlet, unlucky wrangler of raccoons... He is Caprice's son, Joveeta's brother.

Cabaret Auditions


We are looking for men and women 18 years and older with great personalities and good singing voices for our cabaret! Please bring music for one ballad and one upbeat song; be prepared to sing 16 bars of each. Pianist will be available to accompany. No CDs or a cappella. This is a paid position.
