Musical Storytelling, Presented by U.S. Steel at Carnegie One

Guest narrator Tanika Harris reads Fly by Brittany Thurman while pianist Rodrigo Ojeda and a string quartet of Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra musicians perform music following the book's action and mood, with illustrations projected on screens beside the stage. Corrie Stallings, vocalist with the PSO's Fiddlesticks family series, leads movement and interaction so children can sing, move, and play along with the story. Designed for children up to age 5, the program pairs a children's book with live music to spark imagination and build early literacy.
