The NOLA Project has announced its inaugural annual fundraiser, the Green Room Gala, to be held on Saturday, November 15, 2014 at the Margaret Gardens Inn, located in the Lower Garden District. The event stands as both a celebration of 10 successful years of independent theatre production in New Orleans, as well as a way to source funds to continue the non-profit's operations. The evening will feature live entertainment by local in-demand artists Sasha Masakowski and Sweet Crude as well as great food, an open bar, and a special tribute to honorary chairs Martin and Cecile Covert.

The independent theatre company, now in its tenth season and one of the fastest growing arts organizations in Louisiana, has accomplished a lot in its decade-long existence. Since its first production in 2005, The NOLA Project has grown to a strong twenty-four member troupe of actors, designers, playwrights, and directors, achieved 501(c)(3) status, enlisted a dedicated and dynamic Board of Directors, developed an ongoing educational program for high school students, created community partnerships with the New Orleans Museum of Art, Lusher Charter School, and Tennessee Williams Festival, and produced or co-produced over thirty-five compelling, award-winning works of theatre.

The non-profit has high hopes that the Green Room Gala will provide integral financial support to the company's growth, as well as their year-round productions and educational programs. This will allow The NOLA Project to continue to produce quality theatre, educate the youth of New Orleans theatre community, and to fulfill its mission of bringing authentic, memorable theatrical experiences to the New Orleans community and beyond.

Supporters can purchase tickets via The NOLA Project's website at www.nolaproject.com, and are encouraged to don their finest green cocktail attire for the event. Those interested in higher level Patron opportunities, ranging from $250-$1,000, can also purchase via the website, or contact event chair Casie Duplechain at 504- 302-9117 or casiedup@gmail.com.
