You'll shoot your eye out... and laugh yourself silly with the JPAS local premiere of A CHRISTMAS STORY! Based on the beloved holiday movie of the same name, A CHRISTMAS STORY is on stage at the Westwego Performing Arts Theatre, 177 Sala Ave. in Westwego, December 3-19, 2010. Performances are Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30PM and Sundays at 2PM. Directed by Janet Shea, A CHRISTMAS STORY stars Jason Kirkpatrick, Kris Shaw, Lynne L. Bordelon and AaRon Richert as Ralphie. This humorous holiday story includes all your favorite elements of the movie, including the leg lamp ("It's a major award!"), Ralphie's bunny suit, and of course, the infamous Red Ryder BB Gun. Based on the cult-classic holiday movie, humorist Jean Shepherd's memoir of growing up in the Midwest in the 1940s follows 9-year-old Ralphie Parker in his quest to get a genuine Red Ryder BB gun for Christmas. Ralphie pleads his case before his mother, his teacher and even Santa Claus himself! The consistent response: "You'll shoot your eye out!" See Christmas unfold through the eyes of Ralphie as he dreams and schemes his way to his coveted Christmas present in A CHRISTMAS STORY.

Big Easy Award winner AaRon Richert stars as the 9-year old Ralphie Parker, a young boy whose Christmas would only be complete if Santa brought him a genuine Red Ryder BB Gun. Starring as Ralphie's loving, but quirky parents are Lynne L. Bordelon and Kris Shaw. Jason Kirkpatrick stars as grown-up Ralphie, the narrator of the story who provides commentary and thoughtful insight into young Ralphie's story. Making his stage debut, four year-old Joel Chategnier stars as Randy, Ralphie's little brother. A CHRISTMAS STORY also features Heather Leonard as Ralphi's teacher Miss Shields, with Justin Sandoval, Madison Smither, Emily Bagwell, Ross Quinn, Rebecca D'Antonio, Rexton Laird and Kyle Marcon as Ralphie's school friends.

More About the Jefferson Performing Arts Society (JPAS)
Founded in 1978 by Dennis G. Assaf and Hannah Cunningham, Jefferson Performing Arts Society is a non-profit professional arts organization whose mission is to promote arts performance, training and outreach by providing a diverse range of quality programs that entertain, educate and enrich the cultural and economic vitality of Jefferson Parish, Greater New Orleans and the Gulf South.
