Speranza Theatre Company, joined by students from Speranza Studio’s Summer Acting Intensive, announces its summer stage production, PRINCESS PALS, written and directed by Nick Radu-Blackburn. Happily Ever was just the beginning…turns out “after” isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. Bored after their fairy tale endings, princess-frenemies embark on a mischievous adventure. Can they put their differences aside to save their kingdoms, all while dealing with an unexpected twist?

Packed with laughter, adventure, and heart, PRINCESS PALS reminds us all of one powerful truth: we have the ability to shape our own stories—and the power to change them for the better.

“What’s exciting about working on this piece is the way we are incorporating our student ensemble into the production,” said Jennie Contuzzi, Managing Director of Speranza Theatre Company. “It’s both a fully staged professional show and a hands-on learning opportunity for our students. They’re discovering what it takes to create theatre—from stage presence to professional behavior—and they’re stepping up to the challenge. Plus, it’s just a fun, funny show with a positive message—perfect for a summer night out with family and friends.” Writer/Director Nick Radu-Blackburn, who is also Speranza’s Education Coordinator, agrees. “The amount of enthusiasm the full cast is bringing to rehearsals is amazing. Audiences are going to feel that excitement and walk away uplifted and hopeful.”

PRINCESS PALS is written and directed by Nick Radu-Blackburn. It is designed by Marci Elyn Schein. Grace Aroune is the stage manager. It features Cassie Miller, Alexa Echeverria, Alicia Rivas, Megan LeKnapp, Mack LeKnapp, Donniee Barnes, and Trey Radu-Blackburn alongside Speranza Studio’s student acting ensemble.

This program is sponsored by The Hudson County Office of Cultural Affairs, The Jersey City Arts Trust Fund, The Jersey City Office of Cultural Affairs, and The Museum of Jersey City History.
