Bergen Performing Arts School is proud to present 42nd Street! "42nd Street" is the grandfather of backstage musicals. Set during the Great Depression, "42nd Street" depicts the struggles of getting a production up and running during those difficult times. Don't Miss Bergen Performing Arts School's production of 42nd Street starring the brightest rising stars of Bergen County on Friday July 26, Saturday July 27, at 8PM and Sunday July 28th at 3PM. "42nd Street" is a 1980 Broadway musical with music by Harry Warren and lyrics by Al Dubin. Based on the 1933 movie musical of the same name directed by Lloyd Bacon, It is the story of hard work, being in the right place at the right time, talent and love. "42nd Street" is a celebration of Broadway and the people involved in shows. It focuses on aspiring chorus girl Peggy Sawyer performed by choreographer Mariel Letourneau (Ridgewood) and takes us along her journey. Also starring, bergenPAC's Performance Arts School Director Alexander Diaz (Bergenfield) as Julian Marsh, Elissa Hickey (Oradell) as Phyllis Dale, Jaymes Njo (Garfield) as Billy and Tyler Halliwell (North Haledon) as Mac. Musical hits include You're Getting to Be a Habit with Me, Dames, I Know Now, We're In the Money, Lullaby of Broadway, Shuffle Off to Buffalo and Forty-Second Street. Every audience enjoys watching the underdog succeed!
