The Bergen Performing Arts Center, proudly invites and welcomes all to its show, Awesome 80's, taking place on Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at 8:00PM. It is going to be an incredible show led by the charismatic Martha and The Motels, with special performances by bands, Bow Wow Wow, and Gene Loves Jezebel.

Led by the lively, Martha Davis, The Motels were one of the most successful bands to emerge from Los Angeles and they are pleased to announce their reappearance to the East Coast this July. Martha Davis and The Motels are known for their biggest hits, "Only the Lonely" and "Suddenly Last Summer," which successfully reached the Top Ten, in the height of their career, 1982. Davis formed the band with guitarist Jeff Jourard, saxophonist and keyboardist brother Marty, bassist Michael Goodroe, and drummer Brian Glascock. The group signed to Capitol in 1979 and the rest was history. Martha Davis and The Motels have been working diligently with new materials and sounds. They have also been working closely with several musicians including Gnarls Barkley, and are hoping to expanding the band. With their powerful stage presence and Martha's smoky, sultry, and passionate voice, Martha Davis and The Motels are sure to entice and captivate their audience.

World-class bass player, genre-busting composer and producer, and multi-million selling artist Leigh Gorman started out playing classical guitar at the age of 12. While gigging around town, Leigh was spotted by Knox of The Vibrators and asked to audition for Adam and The Ants. He joined the band in November of 1979. With the persuasion of their manager Malcolm McLaren best known for The Sex Pistols, Leigh and fellow Ants Matthew Ashman and Dave Barbarrosa parted from Adam to form their own band, Bow Wow Wow in 1980. Six months later they recruited vocalist Annabella Lwin. In January of 2007, the first new Bow Wow Wow recording in over two decades dropped. The single, "I Want Candy," was a top 10 hit in the U.K. and made it into the top 40 on American charts. The song remains one of the icons of 80's pop and still receives airplay today on radio. Known for their incredible sense of humor and vigor, Bow Wow Wow's music has been described as a blend of Latin and African beats.

Gene Loves Jezebel is known as the gothic rock band formed in the early 1980s and was founded by identical twin brothers, Jay Aston and Michael Aston, alongside guitarist Ian Hudson, bassist Stephen Davis, and drummer Snowy White. Gene Loves Jezebel with their trio of musicians are best known for their songs, "Desire (Come and Get It)" (1986), "The Motion of Love" (1988), and "Jealous" (1990). Despite numerous changes in their lineup between 1981 throughout 1985 the band made several lasting impressions, when they released Promise which peaked at number 8 in the UK Indie Chart. Their fourth album, The House of Dolls, was then released in 1988 and yielded the singles, "20 Killer Hurts" and "The Motion of Love", which reached the U.S. pop charts. The third single from The House of Dolls, "Suspicion", for the first time surfaced on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1987.
