Willy Chirino
Willy Chirino combines the musical traditions of Cuba with American rock and jazz, helping to create the "Miami Sound" of Salsa music. The Cuban-born and South Florida-based vocalist and bandleader boasts a musical repertoire of over 100 songs and 30 albums, making Chirino one of the most emblematic Tropical music acts around.
Pat Metheny Side Eye with James Francies & Nate Smith
Jazz guitarist Pat Metheny is launching a new playing environment called "Side Eye" that will feature a rotating cast of "new and upcoming musicians who have particularly caught Metheny's interest along the way. The first edition of Side Eye will feature James Francies on keyboard and piano and drummer Nate Smith.
"From my earliest days in Kansas City onward, I was the beneficiary of so many older musicians giving me a platform to develop my thing through the prism of their experience and the particular demands of what their music implied," Metheny says. "I have been feeling like I wanted to have a specific platform to
focus on some of the many younger musicians I have enjoyed recently who I have felt some kind of a kinship with."
