Westminster Arts Center in Bloomfield, New Jersey opens their season with The Bard's comedy that teaches "a way to kill a wife with kindness" about feisty women and the men who love them. Taming of the Shrew is presented by Rouges Company, a self-proclaimed "New World" Shakespearean theatre group that has performed across the Tri-State area in many venues. Founded by James Karcher, who also serves as the company's Artistic Director, a working actor, director and writer for over 25 years, Karcher has long performed Shakespeare in New York, on national tours and throughout Europe as well as appearing as Benedict Arnold in "The Revolution" on the History Channel.

"Rogues Company strives to bring Shakespearean and Classic theatre to life, for a generation drowning in a Sea of Reality Television and other disposable entertainments." says Karcher. "Thru live theater, Rogues Company brings its audience to new and strange places, a different time, and perhaps a different perception of the human experience."

Shrew includes a cast from New York and New Jersey and will play on Saturday, September 12th at 8:00 pm and Sunday, September 13th at 2:00 pm. Tickets are $18 general and $13 for seniors. Tickets can be purchased online at www.bloomfield.edu/westminster or by calling 973-748-9008 ext 279. Westminster Arts Center is located on the campus of Bloomfield College at the corner of Franklin & Fremont Streets in Bloomfield, NJ.

"Rogues is a wonderful addition to the Westminster Arts Center season," says Gregory Allen, Westminster's Managing Director. "We have amazing musicals that are presented at the college throughout our season, but were in search of a company to bring the classics to our students and patrons. We believe audiences will be very pleased with this company and what they produce."
