Washington Crossing Open Air Theatre Presents FIDDLER ON THE ROOF, Now thru 10/5

By:
50 years ago in 1964, Fiddler on the Roof first took Broadway by storm. Now on its golden anniversary, the Washington Crossing Open Air Theatre restages the classic musical that has become beloved to generations of theatergoers. Set for two weekends, Fiddler on the Roof will be performed tonight, September 26 through Sunday, October 5. Shows are at 7:30 pm each evening.

Humor, warmth and honesty are the heart of this musical. Tevye, a poor milkman, must weigh his family's happiness against the traditions that have preserved a way of life in his village. His eldest daughters want to marry for love rather than an auspicious match and while outside forces threaten everything he holds dear, family and faith help see him through in a changing world. A journey of love, loss, faith and family, Fiddler on the Roof is a celebration of life and all its challenges. The show's musical score includes such notable tunes as "Matchmaker, Matchmaker," "If I Were a Rich Man," "Tradition," and "Sunrise, Sunset."

The Washington Crossing Open Air Theatre production of Fiddler on the Roof will be performed on Friday, September 26, Saturday, September 27 and Sunday, September 28 at 7:30 pm. The musical returns for an additional weekend of performances on October 3, 4 and 5 at 7:30 pm. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for children (ages 12 and under). Tickets can always be purchased at the Open Air Theatre Box Office one half-hour prior to the performance. Group discounts are available.
